Melissa Frawley is a local Mentor/Coach of Western New York. She earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work from SUNY Brockport, Brockport NY, and her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Medaille College, Buffalo, NY. Melissa is a native of Buffalo and has 20 years of combined experience and training in the areas of youth development; service-learning; social work and human services; youth and family support services; and school-community collaborations, projects and events development.
From 2001-2004, Melissa dedicated herself to three years of full time service as an AmeriCorps*VISTA in Buffalo, NY and Tonawanda, NY. That experience led her into a role where she spearheaded a positive youth development initiative in the City of Tonawanda School District that earned the NYS Civic Star Award in 2005. Melissa’s professional passion is working with youth, families and communities in efforts to build capacity, strengthen families, and encourage healthy youth development. An active volunteer in her community, Melissa enjoys assisting with benefits, community events, and coordinating two of her own special annual collection projects to help local causes.
