Brendan Petersen

Brendan joined CITRS full time in 2012. As Chief Academic Officer, he is responsible for curriculum development, including research, written content and providing expertise in teaching and communications. Additionally, he serves as CITRS’ point person for the National Schools of Character process and the national CSED (Character & Social Emotional Development) Guidelines. Brendan is the Pennsylvania State Coordinator for Schools of Character.

 

Prior to CITRS, Brendan served as Director of Religious Studies at St. Francis Xavier School in Philadelphia, a History and Geography teacher in Kent, England, and a high school Social Studies teacher and varsity coach in northern New Jersey. He is a certified (K-12) public school social studies teacher and has over 20 years of experience working in schools.

 

Brendan graduated from Fordham University in 1997 with a BA in History and earned his Masters in Teacher Leadership.
