  • Character Night at World Team Tennis

    August 12, 2016 The Pavilion at Villanova University CITRS recognized St. Cyril of Alexandria, an Independence Mission School, located in East Lansdowne, at the Philadelphia Freedoms Tennis Event. Students and families enjoyed the tennis and had photo opportunities with Billie Jean King, American former World No. 1 professional tennis player and co-founder of Mylan World Team Tennis. This video was shared which highlights the students and school of character! St. Cyril is led by long-time principal, Sister Barbara Montague, who adopted the Character Counts program this past school year and did an outstanding job! Once again, we congratulate the teachers, students and families of St. Cyril for showing all of us that, indeed, Character Counts!

  • 2018 CITRS OPEN Golfers Support Character

    September 19, 2018 Gladwyne, PA: Over 70 golfers came out in support of the 2018 CITRS OPEN on Wednesday, September 19th at the Philadelphia Country Club. The day began with lunch on the pavilion. Guests were joined by a living statue, a turn-of-the-century golfer. Before golf commenced, the attendees enjoyed the golf ball drop, where nearly 500 balls were dropped from a helicopter onto a target on the 18th hole. Gary Williams, Executive Vice President of Axis Construction Management and Chairman of the Board for The Legacy Youth Tennis and Education was the lucky winner. CITRS appreciates his donation of the winnings back to CITRS to support the mission of developing character-centered environments, in which students thrive ethically, socially, and academically.
